I love seeing (and photographing) the Asiatic lilies at local botanical gardens. Their big bold blossoms always stand out in any scene. It seems like most of the asiatic lilies I photograph are a beautiful shade of pink. Every now and then, I find some white ones in great condition and in wonderful light to photograph.

Probably my favorite white lily is the Eyeliner Lily. The little bits of brown around the edges of the petals define the petals the way a woman’s eyeliner can define her eyes.

Zambesi is another lily with pure white petals. Usually I find the asiatic lilies indoors  in the conservatories – this set of Zambesi lilies were outdoors in beautiful summer sunlight.

Do you have a favorite white lily? If so – let me know in comments. I’m always on the lookout for more wonderful lilies to photograph
