A Few More Spider Mums

A Few More Spider Mums

As promised – here are the rest of my Spider Mum photos from last year.

Photographing the spider mums each fall is always so much fun. My challenge is finding some different ways to photograph the blossoms – to highlight the wonderful details in these magnificent flowers.

A Few Spider Mums

A Few Spider Mums

Each fall several of the local botanical gardens have all sorts of Chrysanthemums on display – which means lots of fun photographic opportunities. The spider mums are probably my favorite type of Chrysanthemum.

I thought I’d share a few of my Spider Mum photos from last fall

A Few Purple Spider Mums

A Few Purple Spider Mums

Spider Mums are my favorite type of chrysanthemum. The long tube-like petals give these mums amazing shapes and textures. And I’ve been seeing them in some pretty wonderful color combinations in recent years. For some reason – my favorites spider mum photos from 2012 were flowers in various shades of purple.

I’ve recently added a new photo – Purple Spider Mum – to my Beautifulflowerpictures.com website.

Spider Mums are one of my favorite types of chrysanthemums. They are known for their long tubular petals with hooked ends. Spider mums, like most other chrysanthemums, tend to bloom in the fall and they can be found in a variety of colors and shapes.

I photographed this purple and white spider mum in the fall of 2012. When I saw it, the combination of the colors really caught my eye – the dark purple at the ends of petals, the lighter purples on the petals closer to the center and the several shades of pale yellow and white in the center. It is one of most striking chrysanthemums I’ve seen. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

This photograph is available as a 10 X 10″ or 20 X 20″ gallery-wrapped canvas. You can order Purple Spider Mum from my website.

Just in case anyone hasn’t seen enough of my spider mum photos – I found a few more . . .

The Senkyo Kenshin Spider Mum has similar colors as the Coral Reef Spider Mum – just in subtler, more pastel shades of yellow, pink and peach.
