I’ve recently added a new photo – Jason Hibiscus – to my Beautifulflowerpictures.com website.

I love hibiscuses. They are one of my favorite flowers to photograph since they have a unique shape. With their large petals and stamens that stick straight out – hibiscuses have a three dimensional structure that few other flowers have. And this makes them great fun to photograph! I love trying to convey the sense of depth of the blossoms, while still preserving the fascinating details of the flowers. This Jason Hibiscus caught my eye as I was visiting a local garden. Between the bright yellow petals and stunning red center, I knew I had to photograph it!

This photograph is available as a 10 X 10″ or 20 X 20″ gallery-wrapped canvas. You can order Jason Hibiscus from my website.

I’ve recently added a new photo – Purple Streaker Iris – to my Beautifulflowerpictures.com website.

I recently spent some time photographing at the Presby Memorial Iris Gardens in New Jersey. I’d heard they had a spectacular collection of irises – spectacular doesn’t even begin to describe what I found. Irises in colors and combinations of colors I’d never seen before. One of the first to catch my eye – and probably my favorite iris I photographed that day – was the Purple Streaker Iris. I thought the patterns of purple and white in the petals were incredible. With a little research, I discovered that the Purple Streaker Irises are what are known as broken color irises – where each one is different from the next due to genetic instability in the plants.

This photograph is available as a 18 X 12″ or 36 X 30″ gallery-wrapped canvas. You can order Purple Streaker Iris from my website.

I’ve recently added a new photo – English Garden Rose – to my Beautifulflowerpictures.com website.

There is nothing like the unfolding petals of a rose just beginning to bloom. I spotted this wonderful English Garden Rose just as it was starting to bloom in the early morning light at a local garden – and knew I had to photograph it. I loved the way the soft shades of pink, peach and yellow blend together in this wonderful flower.

This photograph is available as a 12 X 15″ or 20 X 26″ gallery-wrapped canvas. You can order English Garden Rose from my website.

I’ve recently added a new photo – Blushing Lady Tulips – to my Beautifulflowerpictures.com website.

When I spotted the Blushing Lady Tulips at a local garden – I just loved the combination of the soft pinks and yellows in the petals. As I looked at the photos I took of them, I realized my favorite photo was this set that lined up to make a portrait orientation panoramic photo. I usually photograph my panoramics as landscape orientation photos – but this one surprised me. I hope you enjoy seeing this set of Blushing Lady Tulips as much as I did.

This photograph is available as a 18 X 8″ or 30 X 14″ gallery-wrapped canvas. You can order Blushing Lady Tulips from my website.

The petals of a hibiscus plant are amazing. So often they show marvelous combinations of colors and textures. This Black Baron Hibiscus was lovely – but when I looked closely at the petals – I fell in love with it. The colors (yellow, red,  and pink) and textures were incredible. I hope you enjoy the details of this beautiful flower as much as I do.
