Azaleas, Irises and Dogwood

While I was in California last month, I spent a wonderful few hours at the Jensen Botanical Garden in Carmichael, California. I found some wonderful azaleas, irises and dogwood to photograph. All the photos were taken with my Lensbaby Velvet 56 lens.

I’ve recently added a new photo – Dogwood Reflections – to my BeautifulFlowerPictures.com website

While photographing in early May I saw a beautiful dogwood tree in full bloom with branches draping over a pond. What really caught my eye was how the greens of the leaves and whites of the blossoms looked reflected in the rippling waters.

I’ve recently added a new photo – Dogwood in the Woods – to the shop on my BeautifulFlowerPictures.com website.

In the spring, one of my favorite sights is seeing the dogwoods blooming in the woods of Tennessee. The leaves on the surrounding trees are a shade of green only seen in the spring which contrast beautifully with the white blossoms of a dogwood tree.

I’ve also brought back several of my older aster photos for a limited time – they are all brightly colored round flowers presented as square photographs. They’ve sort of become known as my round on square photos. Several people have created fun groupings of these photos by choosing their favorite summer flowers.

These returning favorites will be available until Octobe4 31. After that – they probably won’t be available again until next summer.

I love seeing the dogwoods blossom (Cornus Florida) in the spring – particularly when the trees are blooming in the woods surrounded by other trees. I realized I had several sets of dogwood photos that I’ve never edited. So today I thought I’d share some of my favorite photos of dogwood blossoms in the woods of North Carolina and Tennessee.
