Wisteria

So this post was going to be about members of the Pea family – and the I realized I had enough photos of Wisteria to group them into a post. So here are some photos of the amazing Wisteria I photographed in Spring 2019 at Longwood Gardens and at Chanticleer Gardens

I’ve recently added a new photograph – Wisteria – to my website at https://beautifulflowerpictures.com/store/wisteria/

One of the wonderful flowers that blooms every spring is Wisteria. Caught at just the perfect moment, it resembles a curtain of purple blossoms tumbling down from above. I photographed this bench surrounded by wisteria on a wonderful spring day. This was one of those scenes where I’d tried photographing it for years and until this time had never managed to catch it on just the right day.

This photograph is available matted to 11 X 14 and 16 X 20

Pink & Purple Sweet Peas – In the Studio

Pink & Purple Sweet Peas – In the Studio

So I’m still working on editing photos I’ve taken in the studio in the past couple of years. I found a bunch of photos of Sweet Peas that I had taken sometime last year. Some were taken as individual images, others as sets of images for stacking in Helicon Focus. With focus-stacking I’m able to create a sense of a greater depth of field in my photos. Today I’ll be sharing the focus stacked images I took of the sweet peas.

Mimosas!

Mimosas!

While I was in Tennessee last month I spent some time photographing a mimosa tree. Also known as silk trees, Albizia julibrissin are native to southwestern Asia. They are invasive in many parts of the United States, and since they are very fertile trees, they are spreading throughout most of the country. They are known for their silk-like flowers in shades of red, pink and white.

As beautiful as they are, I’d rather see more native trees and shrubs blooming along the roadside than more mimosa trees.
