Beautiful Window Boxes in Charleston, SC

It’s been rough watching the news over the past few days seeing all the damage in South Carolina from all the rain and flooding. I’ve taken a couple of photo trips to the Charleston area this year – and seeing areas I’ve fallen in love with battered by Mother Nature has been difficult. I can only hope that water recedes with minimal damage and loss of life – and quick recovery in the areas affected by the storms.

I’d been planning a blog post about all the wonderful window boxes I saw in Charleston since I was there last month. In March, I’d been impressed with all the flowers blooming throughout the city – especially in the window boxes on houses in the historic district. I wasn’t sure what to expect when I returned in September – thinking it has been a hot dry summer here in the DC area. Well I was amazed to see just how lush and luxurious the flowers in the window boxes were last month!

So here are some of the wonderful window boxes overflowing with flowers in Charleston – I even managed to photograph some of the same windows on both trips – so you can see how they filled in over the summer
